Pursuit Hometel Inc. is family-owned and operated right here in Minneapolis, MN. Since our company opened its doors in 1979, we’ve treated each and every lodger with dignity. A few companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch.

What is Group Residential Housing (GRH)?
The Group Residential Housing (GRH) program pays for room and board for seniors and adults with disabilities who have low incomes. The program aims to reduce and prevent people from living in institutions or becoming homeless. This GRH Fact Sheet expands on this information.

Who is eligible to live at Pursuit?
Pursuit serves adult males. You do not need to receive GRH assistance to move in. We accept lodgers with GRH funding, self-pays, veterans, people without credit, and more. Disqualifications include: Level II & III Sex Offenders, Arsonists, and Capitol Crimes, and previous lodgers discharged for cause.

What is the rate?
Our rate is set by Hennepin County and is the same, regardless of how you pay or what kind of funding you have. Our monthly rate is $1,041, which includes a furnished room, three meals a day and additional amenities. Read GRH Program Information to learn more about how the rate is set. We can also charge a daily rate of $34.22 for shorter stays.

What types of payments are accepted?
Self-pay, GRH, GA, SSI, SSDI We currently do not accept credit cards.

What does the move-in process entail? 
Our Lodging Coordinator will go through the move-in process with each lodger. Lodgers must pass a urinary analysis, review and understand our House Rules, receive a fob for entry, and fill out a Personal Statement of Assets.

Is Pursuit Hometel permanent housing?
No, we are transitional housing. A lodger has the right to move out the same day they give notice. Pursuit Hometel also reserves the right to discharge a lodger on the same day notice is given (I.E. for violation of House Rules).

We however do try to provide the most comfortable experience while lodgers rebuild. We understand and respect that each person's journey to recovery is unique. This is why we do not put a time-frame on how long one can stay with us.

How do I receive Group Residential Housing (GRH) assistance?
We can assist you in the application process for GRH or you can apply here.

If Pursuit is full, is there a waiting list?
When working with a parole officer, you can be placed on a waiting list.

How long is the average stay? 
The average stay is approximately two months. We however have people stay for only a few days, and we also have people who stay for many years. There are no restrictions on how short or long your stay with us is.

Does Pursuit accommodate for special diets?
Pursuit cannot accommodate for special diets, whether it is for allergies, religion, or health conditions. 

How many rooms are there? What are they like?
We have private and semi-private rooms. Most rooms are doubles and use a common bathroom (approximately 4 rooms per bathroom, although this varies throughout the buildings). We have 14 single rooms with private bathrooms. We have a cleaning service that cleans the common bathrooms M-F. Everyone receives fresh sheets weekly. 

Is it safe? 
Yes. Each staff member must pass a background check to work here. Additionally, we have overnight security here from 4:30pm to 5:30am daily. We also monitor the property with 16 security cameras throughout.

Medications  
No medications are allowed in sleeping rooms. We store medications, although do not administer it. You are responsible for taking your medication.

What are the rules?


PURSUIT HOMETEL HOUSE RULES
To provide a safe environment, we ask that all Pursuit lodgers and employees follow these House Rules. Violation of these House Rules is grounds for immediate discharge for lodgers and termination for employees.

1.NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED IN PURSUIT ROOMS OR PROPERTY.

2.NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF INTOXICANTS ARE ALLOWED. Intoxicants will be confiscated. 

3.UA TESTING. Pursuit management reserves the right to ask that you comply with a urinalysis testing. Such testing is to determine the use of drugs. Failure to comply with this request or failure of the test itself may result in a discharge from Pursuit Hometel Inc. All new lodgers will be UA tested at the time of intake.

4.NO NEEDLES ARE ALLOWED IN ROOMS. If you have sharps for a prescription medication, the needles must be stored in the front office and used under supervision.

5.NO THREATENING OR VIOLENT BEHAVIOR. Including but not limited to screaming, yelling, swearing, punching, slapping, hitting, pushing, and/or threatening to harm another lodger or staff member is considered violent behavior.

6.NO DESTRUCTION TO PURSUIT PROPERTY.

7.NO STEALING. Pursuit will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. Keep your room locked. 

8.CLEANLINESS OF ROOM AND PERSONAL HYGIENE. All lodgers are expected to keep themselves and their room clean. If you are unable to keep your room clean, we will do it for you.

9.MUST MEET FIRE CODE REQUIREMENTS. State, county, and municipal fire codes prohibit all lodgers from using candles, incense sticks, coffee pots, hot plates, or any other cooking items. Such items are not allowed in rooms.

10.HEALTH REGULATIONS (NO FOOD IN ROOMS). No food is allowed in your room as it is against health regulations and causes rodent and roach problems. 

11.NO SEXUAL BEHAVIOR. No sexual advances towards lodgers or staff will be tolerated. 

12.PETS OF ANY KINDS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

13.THIRTY (30) DAYS STORAGE OF PERSONAL POSSESSIONS. Upon discharge, Pursuit will store your personal items for a maximum of thirty (30) days. Any items that remain at the end of thirty days will be disposed of.

14.PERSONAL POSSESSIONS. Rooms will be checked weekly. Pursuit reserves the right to search bags and personal possessions at any time, for any reason. Declare all possessions over $100 on your intake form.

15.DOOR POLICY. The front door will be locked from 1:00am – 5:30am. If you wish to enter during this time you must be admitted by a staff member.

16.NO WEAPONS. Weapons will not be allowed on Pursuit Hometel properties including but not limited to firearms, sharp edge weapons, folding knives, box-cutters, sharpened instruments, straight slot screwdrivers, bludgeon items, club sticks, and baseball bats.

17.GRIEVANCES. Please report all maintenance problems promptly so that we may address them immediately. Maintenance request forms and Grievance procedures are available in the front office. You may also report other issues with the front office.
